MANILA – The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) of the Philippines has officially rolled out the Philippine e-Visa system for Indian nationals, making it easier than ever to apply for a visa online before traveling to the Philippines.

Indian travelers can now complete their e-Visa applications remotely by visiting the official website evisa.gov.ph, where they can securely pay the required visa fees via direct bank transfer.

The DFA confirmed the full implementation of the system in an advisory dated Nov. 29, following a successful soft launch and beta testing that began in August 2023. The Philippine Embassy in New Delhi and the three Philippine Honorary Consulates in India (Chennai, Kolkata, and Mumbai) officially began e-Visa operations on Oct. 28.

As of Oct. 31, more than 7,259 Indian applicants have successfully obtained their Philippine e-Visas.

“Applicants found the e-Visa system convenient, user-friendly, and reliable,” the DFA stated, highlighting its seamless navigation and positive user feedback.

To further improve the Philippines' digital visa application process, enhancements have been integrated into the system in collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT). The first Indian e-Visa holder successfully entered the Philippines on April 13 during the beta testing phase, smoothly passing through immigration.

"This milestone confirms the full integration of the Philippine e-Visa with the e-Travel registration system, in coordination with DICT and the Bureau of Immigration," the DFA added.

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. had previously directed government agencies in January 2023 to extend e-Visa services to Chinese and Indian nationals as part of the country’s push for digital transformation. The full implementation of the Philippine e-Visa system was officially announced as a key milestone in the Philippines’ digitalization agenda, highlighted during the State of the Nation Address on July 22, 2024.
